I could imagine having the gimbal setup switchable to a camera focused on wide angle and somewhat smaller lenses, then we would not need to modify it much. When we switched the first time in the field it took me many hours, I'm sure I can do it far faster but was still not an easy process so having 2 setups seems better. There are so many things we have attached when we use the long lens, a massive dovetails, arri quick release plates, rods, v mount adapter on Red etc. The MoVI M10 is designed as the ultimate blend of size and weight and able to take cameras ranging from a small DSLR up to the most professional cinema cameras. Switching between long lens setup 50-1000 and gimbal was a slow process for us. just need to figure out a good way to have the controller attached the the setup, either the larger controller or possibly the thumbwheels. I have use RT Motion on our 50-1000 and it is really nice. It also has the advantage that the controller is located near the drive. This is used to connect compatible digital motors (including Redrock Torque, and compatible digital motors from Preston, Arri, Heden, and others) to the MoVI Pro Molex style connector on the built-in lens controller sled. The compact unit provides a high level of integration and can replace entire inverter control cabinets in the field. This is an 18' MoVI Pro Molex to standard 7-pin digital motor connector cable. IMPORTANT NOTE: The CDM-100S is not compatible with the MoVI Pro, which. We are just about to get another Red so I think what we will do is have the RT Motion for the other Red and use the Heden only for the Gimbal. In that case, the MOVIPRO SDC drive inverter with positioning control from our decentralized drive technology portfolio is the right choice for you. NOTE: Lenses, Lens Control Systems (LCS), gimbals, and accessories sold separately. It would not like to have the focus wheel from RT Motion attached to the movi controller, would be a bit too heavy and bulky.
